We want the Government to create a regulator for veterinary services, with powers to cap fees, especially where there is limited competition.

I believe some veterinary practices, especially those that operate out of hours, exploit pet owners when they are vulnerable and acting in their pet’s best interests and above all do not have a choice of provider. The excessive fees charged by some services expose people to financial pressures including debt.
