Closed petition Investigate and tackle shortages and supply issues for prescription medications

We want the Government to investigate the causes of shortages and supply issues for some prescription medications, and take action to resolve these.

Many patients are finding it difficult to obtain their prescribed medication due to either supply or manufacturing issues. This has resulted in (often vulnerable) patients going without their medication, having to source an alternative and / or having to visit their GP. Often these medications are brand specific or only made by one manufacturer under patent. Community pharmacies are under extra pressure and having to deal with frustrated patients because of this.
