Closed Renationalise the railways

Put the railway lines & trains under government control, and make rail a priority transport infrastructure and public service.

Privatization of rail cost the country far more in 'investment' and subsidies than running it publically; they were far more punctual & the lines were better served. Trains are also far more efficient in terms of speed and # of people they can carry & far better for the local & global environment. Large public services, like the railways ought to be, require large, coordinated (i.e. government) direction to succeed.
