Rejected petition Allow All Uk Schools To Wear Pencil/Mini Skirts and Leggings
We want the government to allow pencil/mini skirts in schools because they look nice and many people prefer the skirts rather than pleted skirts. We also want the government to allow leggings because they are comfy and still look nice for school.
More details
We want the government to make this a rule because lots of girls like the skirt and think they would be appropriate (at the right length).
This petition was rejected
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about school uniforms are a matter for individual schools, not the UK Government or Parliament.
We have published the following petition, which you might like to sign:
Suspend school uniform for 12 months: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/621824
We could also accept a petition calling on the Government to ban schools from having a school uniform entirely, if that's something you'd like to happen.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
