We ask the Government to fund free rail travel for all military personnel.
Numerous military personnel are required to work at great distances from their families, friends, and residences, and must reduce the frequency of their trips due to the high cost of fuel and transportation. Also, many personnel drive very long distances which can be dangerous, and the benefits of using rail travel will reduce this risk.
An MOD studies show that between 2012-16 armed forces personnel had a 65% increased risk of dying from land transport accidents, including whilst driving cars and motorbikes, compared to the general population.
