Rejected petition Get the name of Jesus Christ banned as a curse word in public spaces.
To recognise the name of Jesus Christ being used as a curse word, as an offence, in public spaces.
I know many other Christian’s across the board feel the same but feel they would not get the support of the government.
The further we move away from Christianity the more corrupt society becomes.
More details
This petition is because Over the years, the name of ‘Jesus Christ’ has been used as a curse word and as a way to degrade God!
The name of Siddhartha Gautama who Buddhists worship, the many names of the Hindu gods, the name of Allah is not used as a curse word, why then, is the name of Jesus Christ readily available at the lips of those who do not respect or have any reverence for Christianity?
Whilst many may not believe in Jesus Christ, his name deserves as much respect as other religions.
This petition was rejected
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
The Government is not responsible for the words people choose to use.
There are already public order offences that relate to threating, abusive or insulting words or behaviour that are likely to cause alarm or distress. These offences do not apply to specific words or phrases, and decisions about investigating and prosecuting alleged crimes are a matter for the police and Crown Prosecution Service, not the Government or Parliament
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
