Rejected petition Reform the way PIP is decided.

A lot of us with invisible disabilities are declined the benefits we need because “we’re not disabled enough” or “we don’t look disabled” half of the questions PIP is based on are aimed at physical disabilities rather than invisible. Therefore lots of us get 0 points.

More details

We want a fairer and more accepting system, we get questions asked that aren’t relevant to our disability meaning because we don’t have them struggles that makes us not disabled. I’m autistic and a lot of autistics don’t get the same access to health care as others, we don’t get listened to or supported. We have different struggles that aren’t visible but doesn’t mean they’re not there. Battling with the mind is torturous.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about existing eligibility for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP), but we're not sure how you want this to be changed.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could ask that additional criteria be added to the assessment criteria for PIP.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
