I want the Government to introduce a carbon emissions traffic light score for product manufacturers, service providers and utility suppliers, to make it clear to consumers (on product packaging and marketing material) what the carbon emissions are for their product or service.

Global governments and populations are taking notice of the fact that our planet is in danger of suffering the effects of climate change. Each year, leading nations meet to discuss how nations will move forward to help reduce emissions and mitigate the impact.

I believe legislation introducing new requirements for product manufacturers, utility suppliers and service providers to display a carbon emission score (whether physically, or digitally), using a traffic light system similar to that for nutritional information, could make a significant impact to driving change.
