Rejected petition Help prepayment customers who have not yet received any EBSS vouchers.
A significant percentage of prepayment meter customers still haven't received even their first EBSS voucher for October, and now are also facing delays to the November one. The advice is to contact the supplier, but most are finding that to be of no use. Change the way the credit is given.
More details
The government made a commitment that EVERY household would start receiving £66 and then £67 from October 2022. Prepayment meter customers are often those on the lowest incomes, who are also paying the highest tariffs. It is completely inexcusable that there is any delay to these credits, and that energy companies, in my case British Gas, seem unable to get those missing vouchers to customers. The voucher could instead be applied directly to the key, when topping up. Change the delivery method.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned that some energy customers with prepayment meters have not received support through the Energy Bill Support Scheme, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
Issuing redeemable vouchers is the responsibility of individual energy companies, and if you haven't received your vouchers you should complain to your energy provider.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
