We’re waiting for a new Petitions Committee

Petitions had to stop because of the recent general election. Once a new Petitions Committee is set up by the House of Commons, petitions will start again.

Closed petition Any sharing of indecent photographs without consent should be a crime.

The government should be expanding the current law so victims no longer have to prove it was done with the intent to cause harm or distress.

More details

The government should recognise sending indecent photographs of individuals without their consent causes major trauma and distress which can last for years. Victims from this crime have been reported to be left with depression, anxiety and PTSD.

If somebody sent indecent photographs of another individual without their consent it should be common knowledge that this will have negative short and long lasting effects on victims. This law should be changed to protect people that fall victim to this crime.
