Rejected petition Rename or retitle the early years 15/30hrs funding for 3/4 year olds.
"15/30hrs FREE CHILDCARE" title needs to be changed! It's misleading the parents as they want to believe that everything is included in this free hour. They argue that the scheme is "15/30hr Free"means they don't have to pay anything for the hour they get. Confusing and contradictory title-contents.

Because of the TITLE (not the funding), many parents get confused and finding it hard to understand the fact that the government payments to nurseries for per hour is not necessary enough to cover the costs! Therefore, many small nurseries with good quality education and care are facing economical crisis and many of them closed down! Parents argue and demand 15/30hr free of charge service regardless of what the guidelines is suggesting. They just focus on the title and expect free service.

The Government's free childcare scheme funds 15 or 30 free hours of childcare. The Government's guidance for this scheme makes it clear that parents may have to pay for extra costs like meals, nappies or trips.
