Closed petition Review safety procedures at hospital A&E departments

The Government should conduct a review of safety procedures at A&E departments. The review should include how people are received in the reception area and subsequently monitored.

There have been cases, where people have been found in toilets unconscious, or sadly having passed away for hours until discovered. The period of time between entering A&E and being seen can be a vulnerable time for people who have yet received any medical attention. A review is needed to ensure that people are kept as safe as possible, while they are waiting.
