We’re waiting for a new Petitions Committee

Petitions had to stop because of the recent general election. Once a new Petitions Committee is set up by the House of Commons, petitions will start again.

Closed petition Require new buildings to have self-contained gender-neutral toilets

I am asking the Government to require all new buildings to have self-contained gender-neutral (where the toilet, changing table, sink etc. would be in one self-contained unit) as opposed to stalls with communal sinks. We believe this would promote safety and security for all.

More details

People in the LGBTQ+ community may not feel safe in gendered bathrooms for many reasons, (especially LGBTQ+ youth) and some do not feel safe sharing bathrooms with LGBTQ+ people. Having self-contained gender-neutral toilets should address this. By doing this, we could create a safer environment for LGBTQ+ people in public spaces, and promote equality for all.
