Closed petition A formal qualification needs to be required to legally work on a fire system.

I’d like the government to make it illegal for anyone to work on life safety systems such as fire alarms, sprinkler systems and fire door safety/security products without having a formally recognised qualification.

Anyone without formal qualifications can
Design, install and maintain fire safety systems which has led to a major increase in the numbers of people working on these system endangering people’s life’s due to lack of skills and knowledge.

People could die as a result of negligence and could continue to do so until the government make it a legal requirement for tradespeople to prove undoubtedly that they are competent and qualified.
