Closed Government to set a standard price for MOTs

We ask the Government to set a mandatory standard price for the MOT test so that MOT test stations cannot discount this important road safety check.

The DVSA are challenged by the reliability and quality of mot tests conducted by companies that discount MOT prices. We believe there is a definite risk of poor standards created by discounted prices that can directly affect road safety.

The MOT test is a measure of a vehicle's standard and safety, and as such should not be something that can be done on the cheap!
