Currently, funeral directors, burial and cremation providers can claim for fees directly from the Children’s Funeral Fund for England.

We want the Government to reform this fund so that only family members can claim from this fund, whether they have used a funeral director or not.

The current system means that if the family of a child use a funeral director only the funeral director can claim for fees from the Children’s Funeral Fund for England. If a family is unaware of this fund, and a funeral director does not claim for their fees from the fund the family can be left out of pocket.

We believe that only family members should be able to claim fees from the Children’s Funeral Fund, to ensure that families do not miss out on this support.
