Closed petition Require all police officers to receive domestic abuse training

As a victim of Domestic Abuse I would like ALL Police Officers to be required to undertake MANDATORY Domestic Abuse Training. This is currently an optional course. All officers working on cases involving Domestic Abuse need to have an understanding.

Many officers do not understand the affects or signs of Domestic Abuse. I believe all Officers need to undertake mandatory Domestic Abuse training to ensure that all victims are heard and believed. Too often they are not. Domestic Abuse is currently an optional training course and I believe that every officer should have mandatory training in Domestic Abuse in order to support and help victims. As too often officers do not understand the effects of Abuse and continued abuse.
