Closed petition Exempt organisers of motorsport events on public roads from legal liabilities

Closed on

We want laws and regulations governing the legal liabilities for motorsport events on public roads changed, so that the organisers of these events have no legal liability of personal injury and/or loss of damages.

The sport of motor racing on public roads has been around for over a hundred years on British roads. Now with changing times, the cost of organising these events have increased due to insurance costs etc.

We want public liability laws to be changed regarding organised motorsport on public roads, so that liability for personnel injury or loss of damages will lie inevitably in the hands of spectators and/or riders. Therefore the organisers will be exempt from any legal liability, provided that the organiser/s has demonstrated that appropriate precautions and warnings were in place to communicate dangerous events being performed (warnings stating: anyone attending the event will be there at their own risk.)
