We’re waiting for a new Petitions Committee

Petitions had to stop because of the recent general election. Once a new Petitions Committee is set up by the House of Commons, petitions will start again.

Rejected petition To remove/ stop gender neutral toilets/ changing rooms.

I want gender neutral changing rooms/ toilets to be abolished due to a lack of safety for females.

More details

I want them to stop gender neutral toilets and changing rooms going up or already installed in schools, gyms, collages, Universities, everywhere. Its important for girls/ woman to feel safe and secure in these areas but in this current climate we are fearing for our safety and its an encroachment on our right for privacy.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about what toilet facilities to make available are a matter for individual businesses and local authorities, not the UK Government or Parliament. We could accept a petition calling on the Government to require all publicly accessible toilets have separate toilets for men and women, but this could mean that many businesses that only have a single toilet (including a disabled toilet) would no longer be able to have this open to the public.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
