Closed Abolish stamp duty entirely to reduce the cost of buying a home

I want the Government to abolish stamp duty entirely for anyone purchasing a property. Current stamp duty rates make purchasing a property unaffordable for many.

Property is already very expensive in the UK, particularly in the bigger cities. It will be increasingly difficult for people in the next generation to ever buy a property and stamp duty only makes it harder. The origin of stamp duty doesn’t apply to us today so I don’t see why it still exists. We believe it doesn’t benefit the country in any way, only limits us.
