This petition was rejected
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We understand that you're concerned about changes to the length of the school day, but we're not sure exactly what you want the Government to do.
The Government has said that it expects all state-funded mainstream schools to deliver a school week of at least 32.5 hours by September 2023 at the latest, but decisions about the length of the school day are a matter for individual schools.
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to revoke its expectation that schools deliver a school week of at least 32.5 hours.
We could also accept a petition calling on the Government to limit schools to certain hours, but it would need to be clear what limits you wanted the Government to impose.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
