Closed petition Ban the use of plastic packaging for fruit and vegetables

By banning the use of plastic packaging for fruit and vegetables we can decrease the amount of waste produced every year. A study in America found that 63 percent of waste was caused by packaging.

Instead, retailers can make fruit and vegetables open to the public, who can put them in paper bags. This change should decrease the amount of plastic waste by a huge amount and so also decrease the amount of waste that goes into the sea and kills animals. By doing this we can help prevent the climate crisis.
