Rejected petition Make Homebuyers Reports in the UK include helpful dimensions for the disabled.

We want important dimensions mandatorily included in Home/Homebuyers Reports and Surveys.

More details

According to the Government website “In the UK, 1 in 5 people have a disability”
We believe that all house sale Home/Homebuyers Reports in the UK should, to enable potential buyers the full information for their needs, include:
Door opening widths;
Step height, depths and number;
Ramp widths and degree of angle, if applicable.
This should be mandatory to give disabled people the information they require to decide whether a house is accessible for them.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about what types of home survey to offer are a matter for individual businesses, not the UK Government or Parliament.

We could accept a petition calling on the Government to require individuals selling a property to provide certain information, along the lines of that you outline in your petition, if that's something you'd like to happen.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
