Petition GIVE SINGLE HOMELESS WOMEN PRIORITY NEED STATUS IN HOUSING

More details

TO EXTEND THE HOMELESS 'PRIORITY NEED' CATEGORIES

: TO GIVE ALL UNINTENTIONALLY HOMELESS WOMEN AUTOMATIC PRIORITY NEED STATUS IN HOMELESS APPLICATIONS DUE TO VULNERABILITY.

Single women without a home are not classed as eligible for housing when they are homeless as the law does not see them as vulnerable. Yet single homeless women are at risk of abuse, exploitation, assault, rape, and murder. As such this DOES make them vulnerable.

This petition is change the law to extend the priority need banding to automatically put unintentionally single homeless women in the priority need group under homeless legislation on the basis that single homeless women ARE VULNERABLE

Homeless Ex service men, ex offenders, those who are pregnant with dependent children, with physical or mental illness are automatically included in the priority need status as they are classed as vulnerable. Single homeless women are not.
