Closed petition Hold a public inquiry into the running and management of the water industry

There should be a public inquiry into the running and management of the water industry, including how much information the Government had about the financial arrangements of private water companies and where revenue and profits were being spent.

The inquiry should also cover if the activities of the companies resulted in a failure to deliver for consumers, whether the Government was aware of this.
I want the outcome to determine whether the water industry has delivered value for money for bill payers and consumers. I want ministers and others held to account if it is found that information has been deliberately withheld from the public domain. I want to know what ministers knew and when and what action was taken or lack thereof.
