Petition Repeal section 35 of the Scotland Act 1998

Revoke the power of the Secretary of State for Scotland to deny assent to legislation of the Scottish parliament in devolved matters, by repealing that provision of the Scotland Act 1998.

More details

The Scottish Parliament already may not legislate on reserved matters, and has had proposed legislation blocked or amended on those grounds before.

But Section 35 allows an additional veto at the discretion of a single minister of the UK Government, blocking the implementation of democratic decisions on devolved matters within Scotland, not just limiting their effect in the rest of the UK.
