Closed petition Anywhere selling disposable vapes should also have recycling bins for them

Make it a rule that all shops that sell disposable vapes and e-cigarettes should also provide recycling bins for them, to encourage people to recycle these safely and to reduce the amount that end up in landfill.

It's estimated that 1.3m disposable vapes and e-cigarettes are discarded each week. Many of these end up in landfill and pose a serious risk as they are highly flammable. I believe part of the reason for this is due to the difficulties faced finding somewhere to safely recycle them. If shops selling these products also had to provide bins to safely recycle them I believe this would dramatically reduce the amount ending up in landfill. You buy one and recycle your old ones at the same time.
