People with conditions such as PKU, coeliac disease and others that require a specific diet should be entitled to receive vouchers to help meet the cost of the diet they need to allow them to function and thrive through life.

Metabolic conditions such as PKU or coeliac disease require a special diet and the purchase of particular foods. These foods can often be more expensive, providing patients with the difficult choice of buying food for their diet or making ends meet. This has been exacerbated by the cost of living crisis which means that buying food items recommended for your condition can increase the cost of your shop by 200% or more.
