Rejected petition Stop the smell. Action to protect non cannabis smokers from secondhand smoke.

Protect the air quality of non smokers from secondhand smoke and uphold the basic human right to clean air especially in our own homes and streets... debate, review current science and enact the law to protect the citizenship from the destructive life long effects of second hand drug smoke.

More details

Myself and others suffer physically directly everyday from second hand cannabis smoked as a recreational habbit of others. The police, council etc... Appear powerless or unwilling to help protect us from this scientifically proven harmful exposure that puts our health and life at risk. Degrading and eroding our quality of life and health as it has done increasingly now for years. Please help.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about second hand smoke, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

It is already an offence to be in possession of cannabis. Decisions about investigating and prosecuting alleged crimes are a matter for the police and Crown Prosecution Service, not the Government or Parliament.

If you are unhappy with your local police force's response to drugs, you could raise this with your local Police and Crime Commissioner, who is responsible for overseeing policing in your area: https://www.apccs.police.uk/find-your-pcc/

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
