Petition Create new rights to use guns for defence on private property

Give people who hold a firearm certificate (FAC) the right to use firearms for self defence, and to defend others, property, livestock on private property. People without an FAC should be able to use air guns for the same purposes. This should only apply when faced with armed or multiple intruders.

This would protected people from prosecution for the using firearms for defence on private property.

This could help deter criminals making you or your home a target for crimes; home invasions, rapes/ sexual assaults, thefts, kidnappings, smash grabs, violent attacks.

Individuals using firearms outside of the permitted circumstances would face revocation of their FAC, seizure of their firearms, and prosecution.
