Rejected petition Asylum seekers Rowton Hotel, Birmingham. Review the accommodation to be moved
This hotel was previously closed whilst in use asylum seekers, where in September 21 during lockdown Birmingham city council had set up a meeting to house 327 asylum seekers inside, many objections were brought forward but went ahead anyway.

One statement; The anti-social behaviour reason of objection was made about said nuisance/threatening behaviour made towards a female engineer who was working on the site adjacent.
There have also been further objections, namely from local councillor John Cotton (Lab, Glebe Farm & Tile Cross), with papers noting the he raises concerns about:
Total procured initial accommodation bed spaces in the city
Relevance of application given zero asylum occupancy
Quality of service provision in and around the Rowton
Social problems in the community, the conditions for the residents of the asylum seekers accommodation and the hotel, the friction between the hotel use and asylum seekers use and the wider community is opposed to the use.
