Closed Require all NHS bodies to be managed by medical staff

We want all NHS bodies to be managed by medical staff, and believe the Government should make this a legal requirement.

Particularly in light of recent tragic events, we believe there are too many cases where the concerns of medical staff have not been acted on appropriately by non-medical management staff.

The NHS should be run responsibly, but is a public service and should not be run like a business. We believe that having NHS bodies managed by medical staff will help prevent poor decision making, including concerns about patient health and safety not being acted on.
