Rejected petition Any cancellation of HS2 (North) must be subject to Due Process

We ask Parliament: To ensure that any cancellation of HS2 North is subject to Due Process, and

We ask the High Court: To consider an Injunction against any disposal of HS2 North/its Assets by Gov't until said Due Process is followed, on the Assent of the Signatories to this Petition.

More details

HS2 North has received significant public funding for study, survey and design, and the section between Birmingham and Crewe has obtained Royal Assent. Cancelling HS2 North renders this investment lost, and such waste of public funds cannot be allowed to happen without appropriate scrutiny.

Any disposal of HS2 North & its Assets must first be subject to Due Process - Not rapidly sold-off by an (outgoing) Gov't for its own gain - And only furthered if this stands in the wider public interest.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about how the cancellation of HS2 from Birmingham to Manchester is handled, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

We can also only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for, and can't accept petitions that make requests to the courts.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
