Petition Provide councils power to prevent intrusive domestic CCTV

I would like to urge the government to provide councils powers to investigate domestic CCTV complaints and take action if they have been affixed in an intrusive way. The council should be able to charge the complainant a fee similar to the High Hedges complaints.

More details

Currently, the police and Information Commissioner's Office have powers to investigate domestic CCTV, however in practice it appears that they are rarely used. I think that local councils should be given greater powers to investigate, manage and issue fines for domestic CCTV complains amongst neighbours. I think enabling councils to investigate domestic CCTV and action on it if found intrusive will help safeguard privacy, data and human rights to enjoy private property in peace.
