Petition Hold a referendum on the Refugee Convention referendum at the general election

We welcome genuine refugees, but one reason many people voted Brexit was to control our borders, and we believe the 1951 refugee convention is being used improperly to enable people who entered the UK illegally to remain here.

More details

By failing to withdraw from this convention, we believe the UK is misdirecting resources that could be used to help the genuine, to support people who entered the country illegally and we believe should not be allowed to stay. We believe we must withdraw from this convention to stop this from happening. I am the son of two legal immigrants from India to the UK. We do not have an issue with genuine refugees or immigrants who positively contribute to our society. They are welcome!

The Polish government is holding a referendum on the same day as national elections on Oct 15. We want the UK Government to do the same.
