We want responsibility for assessing children and developing education, health and care (EHC) plans to be removed from local authorities, and given to an independent body staffed by specialists.

We believe that local authorities are failing in their duties towards children with special educational needs and disabilities, and that decisions about the needs of children, and how these should be met, should be made by an independent body, and not local authorities.
