Closed Express support for the incoming government of Guatemala

The UK Government should express official support for the incoming Guatemalan government, following elections in August 2023. The UK Government should condemn any attempts made to obstruct the transition of power, and express support for pro-democracy protests.

The UK Government should place sanctions on any officials obstructing the transition of power to the new government, including the freezing of assets and travel bans. The US has imposed visa restrictions on individuals in response to anti-democratic actions in Guatemala.
