Closed Introduce Measures Against Jaywalking

Make jaywalking in the UK an offence punishable by fine.

More and more pedestrians are walking out into the road without looking or thinking, sometimes even crossing in the middle of heavy, slow-moving traffic and causing serious accidents. Anecdotally, this has increased steadily over the last few years.

DfT, please introduce measures to deter this anti-social behaviour.
