Closed petition Make transplant patients eligible for free NHS prescriptions

Closed on

After liver transplant I was told I would be on anti-rejection and immune suppression medication for life to prevent my body rejecting the liver. I feel in line with other people entitled to free prescriptions my prescriptions should be free as my life is at risk if I don't have my medication.

Many diabetes and kidney dialysis patients who risk death without their medication are entitled to free prescriptions. After my liver transplant I was told the news I would be on anti-rejection and immune suppression medication for life to prevent my body rejecting the liver. If I didn't get the medication I would reject the liver and need another transplant or die.

Please review the policy around entitlement to free prescriptions for transplant patients, in line with policy on free prescriptions for other patients.
