Rejected petition Allow gp’s to prescribe melatonin to children
Rejected on
Change the policy that stops our children getting vital help from 1st instance healthcare providers. Sleep is a human right. So many of our children cannot switch off at night. Something needs to be done.
Our children need help sleeping… when, they need help: not after years on waiting lists to see peads or camhs. If we can even get our children on the lists at all. Health services are stretched and underfunded. Many parents are buying melatonin online out of sheer desperation to help their children, and are then penalised by schools, and social services for doing so even when it clearly helps the children with every aspects of their lives.
