Closed Increase fines for mobile phone use to match drink/drug driving

On a daily basis, I see so many people on their phones either texting or making a call. It’s so dangerous to others and I think the law needs to be changed to match that of drink/drug driving.

If caught on their phone, a driver is usually given a £200 fine and 6 points. However, fines for some drink and drug driving offences are unlimited and these offences can result in a custodial sentence.
