To raise the personal allowance so that pensioners do not pay tax on their basic state pension

There are many pensioners who have paid national insurance for a lifetime and due to the pension rises are starting to pay tax as they have exceeded the personal allowance. To add insult to injury they also have to fill in self assessment forms if they are even able to without help. The freeze on personal allowance could have grave consequences for those already struggling on £12,000 PA and is totally unfair to the millions who paid in all of their working lives
