Closed Increase funding for NHS Obesity services, for life-changing obesity medication

The UK faces an obesity crisis, affecting over 26% of adults and straining the NHS. We believe GLP-1 medications can offer a cost-effective treatment, improving health and reducing obesity-related costs. We think urgent funding is needed to make this treatment more accessible.

Obesity has a significant impact on physical and mental health, and as such, this has a large financial implication on NHS services (including mental health services, diabetes, cardiovascular, fertility, MSK, chronic pain clinics). We believe GLP-1 medications can significantly reduce obesity's impact, enhancing well-being and reducing healthcare burdens. We think increased funding for specialist obesity services and GLP-1 medications could offer a cost-effective strategy to combat obesity, benefiting individuals and the economy by reducing obesity-related health issues. We urge the government to fund this investment and support a healthier country.
