This petition was submitted during the 2019-2024 parliament
Petition DVLA to not share details with parking firms unless the individual consents.
DVLA currently shares our personal details with private parking organisations under Regulation 27 of the Road Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) Regulation 2002. I want this regulation rescinded, and DVLA to only be able to share personal information when they have an individual's permission.
More details
Currently DVLA have lawful reasons to share our personal details with civil parking organisations (for a fee). I believe DVLA sharing personal information in this way infringes my privacy, and the privacy of the millions of vehicle users in the country. We trust DVLA to safeguard our information but we believe they fail to do so.
