A reciprocal transfer scheme enables individuals and families who are at risk of domestic abuse or violence and who have a social tenancy, to move to a safe area while retaining their tenancy. It is a formal collaboration between social housing providers and local authorities manage .

To protect the rights of all victims and survivor's who have suffered any form of abuse ,exploitation fear of violence including sexual violence from known unknown persons

To ensure victims and survivors are not re-victimised further by losing their social landlord tenancy rights if they have to move home for their own safety or a member of their households safety and that the main tenant is provided with alternative social landlord accommodation .
