Rejected petition Introduce a Romanian Language GCSE

The Government needs to introduce a GCSE for Romanian Language speakers.
As a 13 year old, born in England with parents that are both Romanian, I feel it is important for my future and for the other thousand's of Romanian speaking children.

More details

We are one of the most prevalent communities in the Uk, and we feel it is unfair for other languages, where there are less speakers of that language, to have their own GCSE language option, yet we don't.
Also, by having another language in our GCSE's, it's a massive plus, and help us in future jobs.
I hope you will listen to our plea and not dismiss us by sending us back and forth with the exam board and yourselves.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

It is for schools to decide which languages they teach as part of their curriculum, and for exam boards to consider which languages have sufficient demand for a GCSE or A Level to be made available.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
