Closed petition Introduce a legal requirement for livestock warning signs on public footpaths.

Closed on

We’d like to see the introduction of a legal requirement for real time livestock warning signs at any entrance to fields containing a public footpath.
Walkers would benefit from accurate, real time information about livestock to make informed decisions about using a footpath with children / pets.

Numerous times we have been walking on public footpaths & come across cows or horses in hidden sections of fields. Although they have every right to be there, it can be a frightening experience for walkers, young and old, and even the best behaved dog on a lead can attract unwanted attention.

We’d just like to see warning signs (similar to those used at National Trust in Lytes Cary) warning walkers that the field is currently in use, so they can make an informed decision before entering.
