This petition was submitted during the 2010-2015 parliament
Petition Develop and Construct a Liquid-Fluoride Thorium Reactor LFTR for power generation.
More details
Fund and develop a LFTR Two Fluid clean, safe nuclear reactor for power generation.
Such reactors should be utilised to replace Coal, Gas and the current dangerous nuclear technology.
The two fluid LFTR can be used to burn nuclear waste and expired nuclear weapons, generating power from them and leaving them inert after 300 years.
The current storage of such waste for thousands of years is costly and poses extreme risk to future explorers, miners and archaeologists.
The inherent safety of these reactors and the ability to abandon them in operation without risk renders all other thermal power generation redundant.
