The Local Council said: 'It has become fragmented over time & overall, in it's current form,
is not of special architechtural or historic interest' ";
however; the Secretary of State can award a Conservation Area on Panshanger Aerodrome's remaining active part because; Planning Listed Buildings & Conservation Act 1990, states the following: 'The Secretary of State may from time to time determine that any part of a local planning authority's area, which is not for the time being designated as a Conservation Area of Special Architectural or Historic Interest, the Character or Appearance of which it is Desirable to Preserve or Enhance, and if he so determines, he may designate that part as a Conservation Area'. Panshanger's History was as a 3D Star Fish site; Decoy Factory & Training Base during WWII and remains an active aerodrome to this day. Holwell Hyde Heritage supports a Conservation Area for Panshanger Aerodrome.
