My sister has received a bill for arrears on sole occupancy council tax going back years because the council decree that her son who was in the forces lived with her, based on the fact that he used her address as a postal address. Even while he was in Afghanistan they claimed he lived with her. The same is happening to thousands of lone parents who allow children to have bank accounts statements etc sent to their address.
